The final state examination consists of two parts:

  1. defense of diploma thesis (diploma thesis is elaborated according to principles for elaboration of diploma thesis given by directive of dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering);
  2. professional discussions related to the topic of the thesis mainly from the following areas:
  • Concrete and masonry constructions (knowledge of basic principles of design of concrete, masonry and concrete prestressed elements and structures and connection to subjects: Prestressed concrete, Concrete constructions).
  • Steel and timber structures (knowledge of basic principles of design of steel and timber elements and structures and links to subjects: Metal and timber structures, Selected chapters of steel and timber structures).
  • Engineering constructions and bridges (knowledge of basic principles of engineering constructions and bridges design and connection to subjects: Concrete bridges, Steel bridges, Wooden bridges, Prefabricated structures).
  • Structural mechanics (knowledge of the basic principles of structural mechanics, elasticity and plasticity and continuity with subjects: Structural Dynamics, Finite Element Method).

Students choose 3 topics related to the topic of the thesis.
