Cities face many challenges in their pursuit of sustainable development In addition to natural developmental change, cities today face a challenge in the form of climate change (Carter, et al., 2015; Rosezweig et al., 2011; Schär et al., 2004). Climate change leads to a gradual temperature rise in cities which results in more intense heat islands (Bowler et al, 2010; Vargo et al. 2013; Yoon et al. 2019). Climate change also increases the risk of floods (Dragoni and Sukhija 2008) which is mainly associated with pluvial floods (Houston et al., 2011), causing local damage, often unrelated to overflowing persistent water body in the adaptation strategies (Gill et al., 2007; Infield et al., 2018; Loder, 2020; Mathey et al., 2011; Rubio-Bellido et al., 2015). The population density of Silesian voivodeship where the Polish part is 370 inhabitants per km2 and the Moravian Silesian region, Czech part is 230 inhabitants per km2; (European grouping of territorial cooperation TRITIA, 2021). As from the data there is a difference in the population density of the regions. My thesis work is concentrated on the devolopment of cities , Climate resilient city – evaluation of Urban Ecological system focused on efficient city administration by working on this student grant project it will help me to gain too many information related to my dissertation work. The grant project topic which i choosen helps me lot to finish my PhD study sucessfully.
Inspiration for my research was still existing comparison between adaptation strategies in two places. It was done mainly to identify similar problems and to find common solution, or to get ideas from one place what they implanted for the benefits and that idea can be used on the other side.Good example can be comparing adaptation mainstream in german and dutch water management( Bauer, A., & Steurer, R. 2014). The comparison paper represents the two dissimilar government approach mainly with regard to how and to how and to what degree mainstream into water and coastal management into water and coastal zone management in selected regions , discussing there strength and weakness.
Similar example is Cross-Comparison of Climate Change Adaptation Strategies Across Large River Basins in Europe, Africa and Asia (Krysanova et al., 2010), basin is the common comparison made on each basin to show out climate change is happening by flood or drought in all 6 basins.
The aim of my research is comparison of the structure of adaptation strategies and indicators in Upper Silesian Coal Basin region (Czech Republic and Poland) with already existing structure of the adaptation strategy and indicators.

Methodology
The primary step of the research is choosing the indicator and adaptation strategy from the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. Detailed study and analysis of the indicator and adaptation strategy have to be done. Second task is to find out the similar, already existing adaptation strategies and indicator, from the European Union is the better choice due to climate and European standards. Similarly detailed study and analysis have to be done for this already existing adaptation strategy and indicator. Comparing the existing adaptation strategies, indicator structures with upper Silesian area adaptation strategy and indicator structure.
Results from the research will be how efficient can be the adaptation strategies in Upper Silesian Basin Coal, based on experiences from another European region.
Based on comparison of existing and applying adaptation strategies the new ideas and indicators (data) will be recommended for Polish and Czech adaptation strategies.
The potential risk in this research is finding a existing similar adaptation strategy and will be difficult to make recommendation for better structure of Polish and Czech adaptation strategies.
And the second risk is if a similar existing adaptation strategy is found out and it will be exactly same as the adaptation strategies in the upper Silesian region.
On site work is required in this research to collect datas of existing adaptation solutions which is already applied in Uper Silesion Coal Basin.

Scholarships:
The main researcher will be Jobin Josh in the reason the main part of scholarship (64.000 CZK) is allocate to him.
Justification ,as a full time student and in faculty of civil engineering this student grant is only source of income because I am not working nor my faculty is not providing any stipend for international students ,so this student grant project is so important to me .This year is so crucial for me because I will be teaching and doing my PhD works also doing with the student grant project so I will not get enough time to go to work .As my preliminary aim is strictly concentrating on my PhD studies for the successful completion of my PhD this fund is so important. The student grant project I had choosen is an ambitious one so it requires so much hard work and time I am very excited to finish it successfully .If I receive this grant i can have more time in working on this grant project.
The second researcher Anna Jurakova is in the beginning of her research carrier and will be in position of follower. That the allocated scholarship is only 4000 CZK. The main benefit for her will be a part of research team.
This money arrangement had been done under a mutual agreement with Jobin Josh and Anna Juracova
Material – 5000 CZK is require to buy printing papers, Ink cartridge, pen, pencils,
Service:
The services is divided into three parts
Conference fee to AESOP congress (7013 CZK) and WMCAUS 2022 (9945 CZK) and fee for publication in LAND journal (33150 CZK)
AESOP conference in Tartu Estonia is one of the great conferences, organized by the life science department of University of Tartu. The congress is organized by the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the University of Tartu, Tallinn University, the Tallinn University of Technology, the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Estonian Association of Spatial Planners, and Publicon PCO. The theme for the AESOP conference is space for species; redefining spatial justice. This is one of the main topics of my PhD climate resilient city, designing a city which is smarter in every way space consumption, energy consumption, greater life style. The congress is also a great opportunity to network and meet new people with similar mindsets and it will help me to successfully finish my research work and I did not want miss the opportunity that’s why I choose this congress. As the congress will be takes place on 25-29 July, a 5 day conference its necessary to stay there these days as I was calculating the expenses from accommodation, flight tickets, food and travel on the city’s public transport (part of travel cost) 275 Euro (7013 CZK) is the registration fees. I will be having their active participation - presentation.
World multidisciplinary civil engineering architecture urban planning symposium Prague ( WMCAUS 13-17 June 2022. Is a symposium where is a forum for discussion of the latest findings and technologies in different fields of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning. Climate changes adaptation strategy is part of architecture also a part of Urban planning. That is the reason why it will be very useful for my Ph.D. study. Fees 390 euros (9945 CZK). I will be having their active participation - presentation and my article will be mention on SCOPUS.
Publishing articles in LAND journal. Land Journal Land is an international and cross-disciplinary, peer-reviewed, open access journal of land system science, landscape, soil–sediment–water systems, urban study, land–climate interactions, water–energy–land–food (WELF) nexus, biodiversity research and health nexus, land modelling and data processing, ecosystem services, and multifunctionality and sustainability etc., published monthly online by MDPI. It covers my topic of Ph.D. Theses. The publication fee I expect is 1300 EUR (33150 CZK) I will used discount from my supervisor.
THE conferences I had choosen paper submission was on march and April ,AESOP conference, the conference is very much related to my Thesis topic ie; Climate resilient city – evaluation of Urban Ecological system focused on efficient city administration the theme for the AESOP conference is space for species; redefining spatial justice attending this conference and submitting and to have a paper presentation in this Topic will be very much helpful for my PhD study. Similarly the conference going to be held in prague its Aalso related to my studies infact I already prepared a similar paper for a subject Ecological and economical efficiency of spatial and spatial planning tools related to the conference paper which is going to held in Estonia and Prague , from the starting of the winter semester, ie September. that is also a reason I choose these conferences So it will be easy to finalise this paper and submit
.Not only that but also most of conference abstract submission dead line was on December to second week of January and I was not able to find a conference which is related to my topic on that time.
Travel cost (22950 CZK) will be included travel cost to AESOP conference Estonia, to field studies in Poland and WMCAUS in Prague.
As the congress will be takes place on 25-29 July, a 5-day conference its necessary to stay there these days as I was calculating the expenses from accommodation, flight tickets, food and travel on the city’s public transport.
As the upper Silesian area is shared between Poland and Czech Republic, the purpose of collecting data’s from Poland on adaptation strategies and indicators there is also a need to visit Katowice or other cities to make a field studied.
Travel to Prague to WMCAUS congress – train ticket, accommodation, daily allowance.
Overheads is 10% from total expenditure – based on rules.
