The Modelling in Mechanics is a traditional meeting of Czech and foreign academics and R&D researchers which is organized by the Department of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.

At the conference, experts can present and publish their original research and development papers focused on various aspects of mechanics and modelling of civil engineering structures and other phenomena:

  • development and application of numerical methods in mechanics,
  • methods used in solution of extensive tasks dealing with mechanics of continuum,
  • numerical modelling of static and dynamic behaviours of concrete, brick, steel, timber and composite civil engineering structures,
  • interaction between subsoil and civil engineering structures,
  • influence of underground structures on buildings and ground facilities,
  • loading and structural responses under extreme conditions,
  • rehabilitation, reconstruction and reinforcement of load-carrying structures of buildings,
  • structural statics and dynamics,
  • automation of engineering tasks,
  • mechanics of materials,
  • non-linear mechanics,
  • fracture mechanics,
  • experimental verification of structures,
  • modelling of structures exposed to high temperatures, incl. fire resistance,
  • reliability and probability tasks in mechanics.
  • analysis of durability and sustainability of building materials and structures,
  • the environmental and human impact of traditional and new materials,
  • nanomaterials and 3D printing in construction.

The conference aims at deepening of cooperation between academics, R&D staff and PhD students from universities and R&D departments in the Czech Republic and abroad.
