The Department of Building Environment and Building Services was established on 1 April 2006 by merging two departments – the Department of Building Environment (formerly part of the Department of Building Materials and Building Diagnostics) and the Department of Building Services (formerly part of the Department of Construction). The first head of the newly established department was Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Ing. Jaroslav Kuba, CSc., who had been working there for four years. Since 1 June 2010 the department has been headed by Assoc. Prof. Ing. Iveta Skotnicová, CSc. Currently, there is one associate professor, 6 assistant professors with Ph.D. degree, 2 researchers (including one Ph.D.), two internal Ph.D. students and a secretary.
